This project takes its cue from the topography of the site, taking into account the different scales which converge in this piece of land: landscape, city and housing. The area of intervention is a hillside, making the most of the slope to accommodate the buildings, arranged in such a way that units face above others to give them their own horizon. The different buildings and scales are held together using a common guideline and built with the same materials. The idea is not to design separate buildings, rather just one single building which seems to slide smoothly down the hillside. By setting back the closures from the structural envelope, the different volumes are constructed like large eyes looking out over the landscape. Colourful canopies and terraces help to control the heat and natural light, providing the houses with individuality and the buildings with a sense of mutability.
