Given the predefined volume, the concept is based on reordering the volume and surface area with a view to exploring the possibilities of combining an enclosed block and an open building. This is achieved through the ambiguity introduced by modifying the corners, hollowing them at specific points, with the purpose of reinforcing the relationship of the inside space of the block with its environment. The 2-, 3- and 4-bedroom homes have a flow-through plan of 12 metres long. This allows day spaces to be laid out between the street and the landscaped inner courtyard, with balcony terraces on both sides. The proposal envisages the possibility of incorporating certain rooms into the day area: e.g. the kitchen and the dining-room or a studio-bedroom and a living-room. These “integrable” spaces create more versatile and more spatially resourceful homes.
