In the throes of the stagnant housing market, the project emerges as an assignment to study the feasibility of alternative solutions for the existing residential products today, in a small urban plot close to the city’s harbour. The primary objective of these alternatives is clear: minimum cost and, therefore, minimum mortgage dependence for the buyer. This way, all solutions come about, inevitably, by reducing surface areas and decreasing standards. Hence, concepts such as micro-unit, home-office, perfectibility or “Ikealisation” are pondered.
