Very close to the ZAL (Logistic Activities Zone) at the port, this residential development is located on the outskirts of the city of Valencia between the urban boundary and the fertile outlying land. Despite its fragility, this area still maintains vestiges of its port and farming history. Underscoring the original character of the area, over and above any specific typologies, the project proposes recovering the former small-town lifestyle where inhabitants sensibly made the most of the street, understanding it as an extension of their homes. For this purpose, on the ground floor level the proposal has conceived a space for non-specific use, a large entrance porch between a lattice frame facing the street and a small courtyard protecting the more private space of the home while inviting citizens to participate in neighbourhood activities. The unity given to the whole volume by this plinth made up by wooden boards, contrasts with the steep-sloping roofs individualising each of the homes, with a silhouette reminiscent of local traditional housing or port buildings.
