The building is conceived as a vertical group of small single family homes, each having an outdoor space at the entrance, a kind of “private garden” customizable by the individual owner. These spaces, sometimes running from the north to the south façade, can be accessed by corridors, functioning like ‘raised streets’ in contact with the exterior, unlike conventional enclosed hallways and landings. The features of the plan allow a wide variety of different units along the corridor, reinforcing their independence. This is, in turn, accentuated by the concrete slabs on the façade, understood as different ground level planes on which the units rest. The quality of materials and building systems are simplified, at all times using the most common technologies available in the buildings production market in order to maintain costs within the budget.
