The proposal comes from hollowing the predefined allowed volume, opting for a single concentrated volume instead of a group of isolated buildings. Through the continuity between the different bodies making up the building (the plinth for commercial uses and the two residential volumes) and the variations between them, this project categorically responds to the different scales converging in it: territory, city and residential. The homes are arranged in line above north-facing corridors and include balcony terraces giving onto the south. Both the corridors and terraces are cantilevered, occupying and spanning the single structural hollow of the blocks, forming different planes on the façade, which apart from thermal control, also provide a constructive narrative to the building envelope. A sort of metal grid is mounted onto the exterior face, which divides and at once unifies the volume, a support for the parapet and the fixed and mobile solar protection which can be customised by users, though following common guidelines.
