Starting from the decision of giving priority to the free space of the plot, the new building is arranged as a “fence-building” which is positioned towards the perimeter to define and embrace a new garden for its users. Thus the breaking and zigzagging of its volumetric configuration so that no dominant, frontal or static plane is presented. This way, monolithic and distant solutions that might end up imposing themselves to the site and its users are avoided. The building, by means of its shape, which, on the other hand solves the complex and delicate program, tries to dispose of a friendly and discreet backdrop for the garden space. This explains why it is materialised as if it were a palisade, abstract and quiet, that somehow reduces its presence in the garden and on which vines can grow to protect from the sun and provide privacy to the interior spaces.
