COMPETITION PROJECT:
MASTER PLAN FOR THE EXPANSION OF THE DSV:
For those who know the Deutsche Schule of Valencia, it is much more than just a school. That is because they are aware of the social, sporting and cultural life that takes place on its grounds. But still, there is just one more feature that characterizes the German School of Valencia: its strong urban nature, similar to a neighbourhood, what emphasises even more its social purpose. Actually, that urban and social attribute turns this space into a place with an indisputable purpose of becoming a small city inside the city itself. Consequently, in order to plan its future, we must think in a proposal that articulates itself as an urban system, with its own streets, squares, gardens and buildings. This way, the spatial urban empathy that the original project possessed becomes reinforced.
