Starting from an attentive and critical look at the neighborhood, the proposal tries to recognize itself in it in order to integrate itself. This is approached from the inside out, paying attention to the spaces, their qualities, their character. The configuration of these spaces and their orientation is key not only in environmental and comfort terms, but also in urban and social terms, as a shared place, a common place.
The house is resolved as the sum of non-hierarchical spaces, which results in its richness and flexibility. The prominence of the exterior in the houses, both in the form of private and shared spaces, is resolved through terraces that, acting as filters, regulate the light and temperature of the interiors in a simple and effective way. A very simple construction, with brick walls and joist and beam fills floors, gives shape to very tactile spaces with great thermal inertia, in order to conserve energy. On the outside, it is well insulated. The rest, like so many other times, leave room for plants and trees. It’s not that complicated, we’ve had it in front of us all our lives.
